F & T   Questionnaire:

The earth is beginning another journey around the sun, there are invisible forces at play in the cosmos and within our bodies and there's no better time to spotlight our next F & T artist. Dominika Ksel is a wholly unique soul whose work goes deep into the universal energetic experiences from which we are so often disconnected in contemporary society. Constructing spaces for complete immersion in trance-inducing sound waves, playing with the immaterial such as light and sensation, and conjuring ancient archetypal forces of the feminine, the wild, and the other-worldly are just a few of her powers. Follow her down the rabbit hole she creates with her work and you may end up somewhere within yourself you didn't know existed.

Describe a place in the world where you have felt most alive:

This is tricky so my answer takes place in multiple moments. Enveloped in jungles of the unexplained, surfing waves of unified fields, celebrating raucously friendships that feel eternal. I guess it's more the feeling than the place which is that sense of interdependence that hugs and tickles me, jolting electricity and excitement through my veins.

Share an image that you return to often:

A geometric cosmos that morphs and soothes my chaotic mind.

What is the last thing you read that mattered to you? What will you read next?

Where the Heart Beats, a bio on John Cage. I’m about to read The Myth of Freedom and The Way of Meditation by Chogyam Trungpa

Describe an object that intrigues you:

Unidentified Flying Objects. Since I was a child I would sit and stare into the sky. I've seen a few rather curious objects over the years but due to their elusive nature or distance I've never really been able to pinpoint the nature of their objecthood. This is truly fascinating to me, the material unknown.

What must change?

Our society and it's ego, greed, entitlement and selfishness. We are so self-centered and this behavior is rewarded in our society, a highly problematic system. We need to recognize our interdependent nature and become more compassionate, thoughtful and helpful to others and the environment otherwise we carry forth a disharmony that will eventually lead to our demise.

How can we heal?

Open our notion of ourselves and our relation to the external world. Learn to love not judge. Communicate our internal feelings in order to silence the whispers of the beasts. Acknowledge ourselves and others on equal plateaus.
If you could instantly have any skill or ability what would it be?

haha this one is funny I thought it would be mind control but that sounds so sinister. I will go for changing people's behavior or better yet instilling compassion into people. I suppose I'm impeding on free will but so be it.

What makes you laugh until you cry?

Actually, I laugh until I cry pretty often and what sparks this can be as juvenile as bodily functions or as heart wrenching as the tragedies of human stupidity.

As a member of the global community, what is your greatest concern?

That we are ravaging and raping our planet.

Describe a non-human being you’ve interacted with.

One being that was very wise had the appearance of a giant gentle preying mantis. It was interdimensional and felt very kind. It spoke telepathically and had electric lights surrounding its exterior similar to the lasso tool in photoshop. It shared many wisdoms and emitted a positive energy.

What is your mantra?

We are not alone. Hehe

What can art do?

Break open the head and pour the imagination into a shared fabric of reality. Transform our consciousness and help us to evolve into a more cooperative and compassionate group of beings.
